Grocery Provisions

Home Steward, our property manager, will provision and stock your groceries for you for a fee on top of your groceries. We highly recommend this as it will save you time on your vacation. Some groceries are not always available on specific days, so the team provisions over several days. We will connect you with our team within the month of your arrival.

If you choose to provision yourself, Exuma Markets is your best bet for the bulk of your groceries, frozen foods and sundries. It is just 1 mile from February Point in George Town. About 10 minutes past George Town, Island Prime Meats is best for deli and meat as well as some sundries, and Smitty's has the island pharmacy.

Liquor stores are next to Smitty's (on Queens Highway) and near Exuma Markets in George Town.

You'll go through a lot of ice, and while we have ice trays and an ice maker, we recommend getting an extra bag of ice, too.

If you are in a big group or staying longer than 6 days, we recommend getting extra toilet paper.

What to Pack

Your Passport: The Bahamas is an independent, sovereign nation and requires a passport for entry.

Hats, sunglasses, flip flops, sun protective gear, and the usual beach/swim gear. Exuma is for explorers and for getting wet! We do encourage exploring the hiking trails on Stocking Island - the southern side is relatively flat and flip flop-friendly, but the monument hike should be done in harder soled or tennis-shoes.

Sunscreen - Please be kind to our fragile and beautiful environment and bring reef-safe sunscreen like Blue Lizard or the Caribbean Breeze line. Banana Boat has come out with w Reef Friendly formal (look for a symbol on the bottle)

Bug Repellant - Skin So Soft (anything with Picaridin) helps with the "no see ums" and "sand flies" - especially for sitting outside at night and for Stocking Island beach hikes. You can order on Amazon. We do have some at the house and try to keep it stocked. People seem to prefer OFF with Deet, and we like the Proven brand.

After-bite lotion - In case you have a reaction to the bites! (My daughter always gets some bites while I might have 1-2 per vacation if any...we think it's because she is sweeter!) or Benadryl.

Water Bottles - We provide water at the house, so that you can refill as you like. We do have several water bottles at the hosue. The tap water is safe to drink. Please avoid purchasing single-use bottled water.
